Angel City FC has traded 19-year-old midfielder Kennedy Fuller to Bay FC, the team announced on Wednesday. In exchange, Angel City will receive $500,000 in intra-league transfer funds and $20,000 in allocation funds. Angel City also sends a 2026 international roster spot to Bay FC. Fuller was days from turning 17 when she bypassed college and signed with Angel City on March 6, 2024, through the NWSL’s U-18 Entry Mechanism. Earlier this season, she made her 50th appearance with the club. In an Instagram post, Fuller thanked Angel City fans and teammates: “This city gave me my first professional home, my debut and a family that changed my life … LA will always hold a piece of my heart. Thank you for everything.” Fuller did return to the starting lineup in Angel City’s last two games May 23 and 31 before the break. She was the fourth of a wave of teen talents for Angel City, which started with 18-year-old Harvard-Westlake High student Alyssa Thompson after she was selected No. 1 overall in the 2023 NWSL Draft. Bay FC coach Emma Coates said: “Kennedy is an exciting player and a fantastic addition. She is a superb young talent who possesses lots of NWSL experience.” Fuller will join Bay FC after the June international window. Angel City returns to action on July 3 when it hosts the Orlando Pride at BMO Stadium. Fuller’s initial contract ran through the 2026 season, with an option for 2027. And in her first season, Fuller made 19 appearances. She played in all 26 games last season. After starting the first five games this season, Fuller went through a four-game stretch when she played just 49 minutes over three sub situations. Last month, Fuller said she was still finding her confidence and admitted to feeling “a little old” in her third season in the league. In one of those sub spots, she scored the winning goal against Kansas City. Angel City FC's trade of Fuller is a significant move for the club, as they look to rebuild and strengthen their roster. The team's fans will be watching closely to see how this move affects their chances in the league.
