Angel City FC has made a significant move by appointing Amy Taylor as the new chief executive officer. This announcement was made on Monday, and Taylor will officially begin her role on July 27. She is transitioning from her position as CEO of Zevia PBC, a company known for its zero-sugar beverages. In her new role, Taylor will be responsible for overseeing all football, business, and organizational operations for the LA-based club. Taylor's background includes a successful career in sports management, having previously served as the director of game operations for the Atlanta Hawks and later rising to president and chief marketing officer for Red Bull North America. Her leadership experience also includes representing Red Bull's interests in the MLS with the New York Red Bulls. Notably, Taylor has been recognized with the Women in Sports and Events (WISE) Inspirational Woman of the Year Award. Angel City FC is currently recognized as the most valuable franchise in the NWSL, valued at $335 million according to Sportico's latest rankings. However, the club has faced challenges on the field, currently sitting in 12th place out of 16 teams in the NWSL standings. Taylor's appointment is seen as a pivotal step in enhancing the club's overall performance and brand presence in women's soccer.
